Nurseries

Every child, one record — from enrolment to home time

A nursery day runs on small, constant updates — who is in, who ate, who was collected and by whom. Scholyn keeps all of it on one child record that parents can actually see.

What the week actually looks like

The register lives on paper, the parents on WhatsApp

Attendance is ticked on a clipboard and photographed for the office; parent updates go out from personal phones. Neither survives a staff change, and neither is a record.

Allergy and medical detail scattered

The allergy list is a laminated sheet in the kitchen and a note in a file. When it changes, one copy is updated and the other quietly is not.

Pickup is a memory exercise

Who is authorised to collect each child lives in staff memory and a signup form from September. A new face at the gate means a phone call and a queue.

Enrolment paperwork never ends

Registration forms, consents, document copies and renewals arrive on paper, get filed, expire silently, and are reassembled by hand whenever anyone official asks.

What changes

  • Daily attendance with automatic parent notification — the register is the record
  • Allergies, conditions and medication alerts on the child record, visible to the staff who need them
  • Authorised-collector checks and a logged handover at the gate, with dismissal boards as an add-on
  • Consents, documents and immunisation records held with expiry tracking, ready when asked for

Questions this role asks

Is there really a free plan for small nurseries?

Yes. Starter is free up to 50 children on one site — a working child record, daily attendance with parent notification, and the parent portal. It is not a trial; small settings run on it indefinitely.

Can parents see the day?

The parent portal covers attendance, notices, consent forms and direct messages, on web and mobile, with unlimited guardian access — grandparents and nannies included, at no extra charge.

What about our staff — ratios, attendance, HR?

The staff side is CampusTrack, the sister product: GPS check-in from staff phones, leave, documents and approvals. The two share one platform, so taking both means one login and one support desk — but neither obliges the other.
